... do I get to celebrate President's Day even though I'm Canadian? And I'm not fond of the current holder of said title?

I think I'll toast Chester A. Arthur, the 21st president tomorrow. After all, he might have actually been Canadian...

Or there's always William Henry Harrison. His inauguration day was cold and wet. He didn't wear an overcoat, and gave the longest inauguration speech on record (two hours!). He caught a cold, pneumonia, and died a month into his term. The moral of this story: even if you're the President, listen to your mom and wear a frickin' coat!
