the more verbose post I had promised

... spent a good chunk of the day at an adopt-o-thon for the Animal Rescue Network, in an attempt to find my pooch a new home.

and it's a good thing that rdcf wasn't there... kittens. adorable kittens. adorable tiny kittens. when I get all goo-goo over a kitten, that's saying something!!

... as mentioned before, the ARN are more a pet-adoption outfit than a shelter... they foster-family pets around while they're trying to find permanent homes. there was one prospect, but she seemed unsure of whether she was up to having a medium-sized dog. we shall see.

and I have to like the way they size people up... when I first got there, all they knew of me and the dog was what I had emailed them. so understandably, they promised little... they *might* be able to find someone to foster my dog.

but, as the day went on, and they saw my dog interact with other dogs, cats, people, kids... they loved her! and semi-mysteriously, they started coming up with names of people who might be able to foster her once I give her up.

so at least, the prospects of them being able to help me out and take good care of the pooch in the meantime, look good.
