finally online again
Oct. 12th, 2001 07:16 pm... I have a very valid excuse for not updating for a few days... my connection was quite wonky, varying between "pages load realllllllly slowly" and last night's "nothing happening at all" funfest. but things seem to be connecting normally now *knocks on head*... let the good 'net vibes roll.
... the main thing that annoys me about the whole post-09/11 situation? people who believe whatever they read, and don't read enough. if people took thirty seconds to verify the source of what they're reading, and/or get a little background, there wouldn't be half as much paranoia and hysteria around. like my tattoo says, knowledge is strength... people should at least attempt to get the barest grasp of the facts before spouting off.
... random notes inspired by stuff in my line of sight... still haven't hung my "Pulp Fiction" poster up since it came back from being mounted, don't really have any good spots for it that I can see. ... the new shoes are way comfortable. comfy new kicks rule.
... why you have to watch how you phrase things around me... the other day at work, a co-worker was talking about how a network problem messed up her work. we have various servers for the different divisions and departments, and they usually have problems independent of the others.
so, in talking about a recent crash, my co-worker uttered the immortal line...
... when the server went down on me...
exsqueeze me? baking powder? is she getting special treatment from her desktop system that I'm obviously not??
...leaving for dinner tres bientot.
