50,000 words in a month, Day 3

Doesn't sound like a lot, I know. But considering I completely scrapped my original premise and came up with a new on, I'm almost surprised to have done thatmuch!!

I'm trying to "show, don't tell" as much as possible, so the first bit I wrote is pretty much expository. I'll have to flesh it out a lot, but at least now I have a jumping-off point. And this weekend shall be house-cleaning and writing time!! I have catching up on both to do!!

What they tried to promote with the Nanowrimo contest is that you just write a first draft without letting your internal editor get in the way. That's what slows you down.

I know, but I'm having a hard time chasing my internal editor away. maybe I'll have to drive him out to the woods somewhere and abandon him for a month. ;)

I know it's hard to turn off that internal editor... that's what has hampered me to get the first draft of my story finished. I'm over the 3000 word minimum, have about 2.5 scenes left from my initial story plan... but getting to the end has been a real challenge. Yet, this is 47,000 words less than your needs...
