1. What did you have for breakfast this morning? If you didn't have breakfast, why not?
A chocolate fudge Pop-Tart and a glass of milk. Oh, the nutrition. ;)

2. What's your favorite cereal?
Honeycomb or Cheerios, but I give extra marks in general to cereals that taste good even without milk, straight from the box.

3. How often do you eat out? Do you want that to change?
One or two dinners a week. I'm okay with that, I don't mind cooking.

4. What do you plan on having for dinner tonight? Got a recipe for that?
I have no idea... but very little that we make for dinner requires a recipe, it's more a case of looking up how long it takes to heat up in the microwave. ;)

5. What's your favorite restaurant? Why?
For burgers, Wendy's. For a good sit-down meal, Baton Rouge.

1. What did you have for breakfast this morning? If you didn't have breakfast, why not?
I didn't have breakfast, unless you count a half-pot of coffee. I rarely eat breakfast - if I eat when I get up, I'm hungry again in few hours, so I don't eat until I get home from work (which by the way is noon, so it's not as bad as it sounds)

2. What's your favorite cereal?
Golden Grahams.

3. How often do you eat out? Do you want that to change?
About once a week. It's not all *that* hard on my bank account (mainly cause the places I eat at I get free food cause of work) but it's bad for my (non-existent) waist line, so it should stop. But I know it won't.

4. What do you plan on having for dinner tonight? Got a recipe for that?
Well I just finished dinner and I had chicken, boiled potatoes and raw carrots, followed by vanilla ice cream with peanut butter on top. Yummy like all get out! (man do I ever love home-cooked (and by that I mean mum-cooked) meals!)

5. What's your favorite restaurant? Why?
The Keg. I do so adore their roast beef and the horseradish that makes your brain hurt.

it's not friday, but still...

What did you have for breakfast this morning?

A large mug of special blend espresso.( part columbian part french roast, freshly ground beans)
three thick slices of still warm multi grain bread straight from the bakery at the end of the block, with extra chunky peanut butter, and two hard boiled eggs.

2. What's your favorite cereal?
Count Chocula...hard to find around here...or frosted mini-wheats.

3. How often do you eat out? Do you want that to change?

Not often, mostly because of the cost. Although I could really go for one of those baseball steaks from the Keg. (A big fist sized chuck of beef (grilled on the outside bloddy on the inside) with a baked potato)

What do you plan on having for dinner tonight? Got a recipe for that?

Tonight? Beef curry on long grain rice and a few tins of guinness. I don't often make precise measurements, some experimentation is called for
First start the rice...while it is cooking (15-20 minutes) you do the rest.
The curry is simple. first you chop up half a spanish onion (or more if you really like onion) and fry it up with some oil until the onion starts to get soft (not too hot or it will burn) sprinkle some salt and pepper on the onion while it is cooking.

cut up some stewing beef or other red meat (about this much...put your hands together to form a bowl shape fill the bowl with meat...add some more if you are really hungry.
If you don't have beef, try horse...not only is the taste quite similar, but it is much leaner than beef. If you have game meat like venison or moose, add some tarragon. Yuo'll probably want to increase the spices to compensate for the "gameyness"

add some freshly ground pepper (well any pepper really but fresh is always better) and a bit more salt and stir fry it all together until the meat is at least browned on the outside. (the smaller the peices, the faster it will cook through...)

mix at least a few teaspoons of your favourite curry powder and a 3-4 ounces of water. pour this into the same pan that holds the meat and the onions. you can also add some root veggies like chopped carrot and or small cubes of potato. Give it a good stir reduce the heat and cover the pot.

While you are waiting for the rice to finish, check the curry periodically to restir and check the thickness o the sauce and the tenderness of the veggies.

Drink at least one of the tins of guinnesss while all this is going on.

portion out some rice, and serve the curry ontop of the rice.
Dig in.

5. What's your favorite restaurant? Why?

Current fav, Mommy's Fish & Chips (in Verdun) big chunks of beer battered cod (they also have scallops), hand chopped chips, cheap prices. What's not to like? O.K. you do have to go to Verdun, but still.
