calendar things, good and bad
Mar. 17th, 2003 10:06 am... firstly, Happy St. Patrick's Day to all the Irish, whether you're full, diluted (like me), or just an honorary. :)
and yes, I know my current music isn't exactly Irish... blame WinAmp. I'm wearing th'green though, that's what counts.
... and looking at the calendar, I see that it'll be six months in the US soon. and I just passed five months of being eligible to work.
it'd be really nice if I actually was working, but anyway.
I mean, where the hell are those "85% of jobs aren't advertised" that the books keep talking about? and if there are so many of those jobs just begging to be filled, then how come there's something like 10 million unemployed people in this country?
and how come with my 5 years in financial services, I'm having zero luck finding a job in the field?
... there are always alternatives though I guess... 'cept I think I'm too old for American Idol... I refuse to tryout for Survivor until they have it somewhere cold to give us Northerners a shot at it... the nearest Jeopardy tryouts are in June in freaking Providence...
wow, does this suck. land of opportunity my ass.

Date: 2003-03-17 12:04 pm (UTC)As one of the 10 million unemployed people, I can with confidence say . . . I think you have to be either related to or giving really good blow jobs to someone in a place of power to find that mysterious 85%.
Good luck!! --Hag
