Drink review
Apr. 10th, 2003 05:27 pm... today's sippin' stuff: Sam Adams Cherry Wheat beer.
a little background: a few years ago, I tried another seasonal Sam Adams brew... I know it had raspberry. I loved it. I also had a Belgian import called Maredsous a few years back that was brewed on a fruit base. it was a strong (8-9%) beer with absolutely no aftertaste and just enough sweetness.
so when I saw this stuff while doing the groceries, you know I had to buy some... man cannot live by Moosehead alone, you know!
and the verdict... pretty damn good, if you're into that type of beer. (if Miller Genuine Draft is as adventurous as you get, forget it!) it's got very little aftertaste for a fairly strong beer (5.2%) and goes down quite smooth... the flavor is pretty strong but not overpowering.
the website says spicy foods go best with it... makes sense to me. recommended to those of you with adventurous beer tastes.
