... and I'm feeling better than I did last post... not tap-dancingly better, but better.

on to the Five...

1. What was the first band you saw in concert?
Glass Tiger opening for Gowan, Verdun Auditorium, 1987. How very 80's Canadian of me.

2. Who is your favorite artist/band now?
Holly Cole, Gowan or Bon Jovi.

3. What's your favorite song?
I probably give a different answer to this every time... "A Criminal Mind", Gowan.

4. If you could play any instrument, what would it be?
I play the drums horribly, so getting better would be good... other than that, bass guitar.

5. If you could meet any musical icon (past or present), who would it be and why?
Elvis before the drugs hit, or John Lennon. Or Shania Twain, but for completely different reasons. ;)

Dude! Gowan was my first concert too. Summer of '85, Ontario Place Forum.
No opening act though.

It was like, totally embarrassing because my parents and little sister came too. My dad wadded up some balls of newspaper and stuffed them in his ears. These are the kinds of things that scar you for life.

Post spell-check note: I like the suggestions it gives for Gowan. Like Go Wan, Gown and Groan.

he opened for Paul Young around '85 too, I remember. and no parents (at least not mine) were present at Gowan, just me and a few friends drunk on teenage freedom. ;)

they broke up in the early 90s... they had a few albums chart pretty much just in Canada after they hit it big.

Back before Amazon.com (hard to imagine life before it, I know ;) I had wanted one of their albums, and since it wasn't being produced in the U.S., I couldn't get it anywhere. So, a guy at this record store here in Dallas actually made me a taped copy of his own personal album (vinyl, that is) because he was so thrilled I was a fan. Totally illegal, yes. But, cool as shit. That rocked.
