date night
Jul. 20th, 2003 01:24 pm... Rox and I had a date night last night. we went into Boston, and everywhere we went was in the Faneuil Hall area, so we didn't even have to wander around that much.
we had some good food, got ice cream (because it's the summer, so ice cream is a must). then we went to the Comedy Connection to see Lewis Black from The Daily Show. funny, funny man. angry, but funny. one of my .
1. Dave Chappelle - anyone who calls his tour "Blackzilla" has to have something going for him. if you think his movies are funny, his stand-up and sketches are funnier.
2. Eddie Izzard - would be the biggest thing going, if his material wasn't too intelligent for most of the people out there. fine with me... I'd rather see smart, hilarious Eddie any day. (and in October, we get to see him!)
3. Richard Jeni - the quintessential Noo Yawk comic. saw him in a one-man show at Just For Laughs that was just hilarious.
4. Lewis Black - he's angry. he's also hilarious. he'd be great in elected office, except his ideas make way too much sense.
5. Jon Stewart - saw him live last winter. The Daily Show, half the time, is a better news show than the real news. and I was a journalism major.
afterwards, we listened to buskers outside for a bit. then, we went home, watched some TV, and ate popsicles. all in all, a good date night.
