Fried, eh? Five
Oct. 10th, 2003 12:25 pm1. Do you watch sports? If so, which ones?
Hockey. Hockey. Hockey. Occasionally: basketball, baseball, Formula One, golf.
2. What/who are your favorite sports teams and/or favorite athletes?
New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens.
3. Are there any sports you hate?
Football doesn't do much for me, but I wouldn't say I hate it. And any sport where judges completely decide the outcome (figure skating, gymnastics) is fairly useless.
4. Have you ever been to a sports event?
Many, many Canadiens games, many, many Expos games, a few CFL games in Montreal and Toronto.
EDIT: How the heck did I forget catching a game at Yankee Stadium? I even remember Rick Cerone hitting the game winning HR for the Jays. Huh.
5. Do/did you play any sports (in school or other)? How long did you play?
I played little league when I was 11-12 years old, then softball at work in my mid-20s. And I ran the infamous 10K in June '02.

Might as well totally embarrass myself...
As long as you count pro wrestling, sure. Personally, I don't, but I figure it's better than putting "nothing." Though I occasionally watch tennis, and mixed martial arts competitions are TEH 4\/\/3Z0/\/\3.
2. What/who are your favorite sports teams and/or favorite athletes?
See, atheletes I can do, 'cause while pro wrestling's not a sport, the guys who do it *are* atheletes. (At least, the good ones.) Christoper Daniels, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, anyone with the last name "Guerrero," Jun Akiyama, Satoshi Kojima, and bonus points for anyone who can identify any of the following without resorting to an internet search: Oscar Gonzales Gutierrez Rubio, Chris Irvine, Makoto Saito, Masato Yoshino, Hiromasa Horiguchi, Susumu Mochizuki, Takao Yoshida.
And, of course, in the MMA category, Kazushi Sakuraba and Mirko Filipovic. The former was a complete punkass with a background in pro wrestling who nonetheless took on several of the most prominent members of the most feared family in martial arts, the Gracies, and made 'em all tap like they were in the chorus of 42nd Street. The latter used to be a policeman in Croatia, and it's not hyperbole to say that he's possibly the baddest man on the planet today.
3. Are there any sports you hate?
I can't really throw stones on this one, but I'd have to say that I see car racing as pretty useless. I just don't tend to watch team sports; they bore me.
4. Have you ever been to a sports event?
A few Red Sox games, a few Maine Guides games, plenty of football when I was at Dartmouth. In the last few years, though, it's pretty much been all indy wrestling for me.
5. Do/did you play any sports (in school or other)? How long did you play?
I am a pathetic athelete, always have been. I played tennis and golf as a kid, mainly because first the one and then the other became my father's obsession du jour.
