altoids and Fenway and stuff. oh my.

ayakoholic's suggestion, I tried Ginger Altoids today. I had wanted to try them ever since he mentioned them, but the only place around here that had them was Trader Joe's (a co-worker clued me in on this).
anyhoo, found 'em, tried 'em. dayamn, they're sneaky little bastards. they start off all mild and sweetly gingery, and then they give you a swift kick in the buds. quite the unique Altoid experience.
... I took a half-day off work today, had a dr's appointment. having time to kill and being near the ballpark, I walked around Fenway to catch some of the pre-game vibe (at many, many hundred$ a ticket, that's as close as I was getting).
definitely a spirited crowd... Bostonians definitely love their Sox, especially in October. still, there's pretty much going to be some over-emotional people in Red Sox Nation no matter what. if the Sox lose, much self-flagellation and mourning. if the Sox win, nobody'll sleep for days.
though if the Sox lose, everyone had better cheer for the Cubbies.
