Oct. 18th, 2003 10:27 am... we were sent a really sweet wedding present today... a glass jar of Hershey's Kisses and Hugs. a nice jar, and gooooooooooooood chocolate (or is "good chocolate" a redundant statement?), who could ask for more?
... we saw Lost In Translation the other night. great movie... you really get into the characters. both leads are fantastic, Bill Murray especially. I smell Oscar nomination for Murray at very least. highly recommended, even at full price.
... yeah, the Red Sox should fire Grady Little's ass. and not only because we stayed up until almost midnight watching through the 9th inning.
I mean seriously... it's one thing to let Pedro stay in when he's running on steam, in June against Kansas City when there's nothing on the line. but in a freaking SEVENTH GAME? a Little League manager would have known to pull Pedro. small house pets would have known to pull Pedro.
I wish I was Grady Little's son... he would have let me stay out as long as I wanted to.
... ate wayyyyyyy too much yesterday. I had brought a sandwich for lunch, and was invited to lunch by a departing co-worker right after having eaten it. since it was her last day there, and it was Legal Seafoods, I went. :)
and damn, that's some out-of-this-world chowdah. highly recommended. for dinner last night, we went to a restaurant in Faneuil Hall that serves a prime rib that closely resembles the Brontosaurus Ribs(?) that Fred Flintstone gets delivered at the drive-in during the opening for The Flintstones cartoons. just a huuuuuge bone with lotsa beef. (I ordered the turkey.)
and for dessert, we went to Mike's Pastry, a North End bakery whose stuff is just too yummy... any doubts as to the quality of the food, were quickly dispelled by the huge crowd literally elbowing each other to order. it may take us a while to get through the above-mentioned Hershey's, just because we still have a ton of yummies to get through. that, and I'm still a bit bloated.
