Super Bowl parade... check.
Feb. 2nd, 2004 10:40 am... not that I'm huge into football (when I do watch, I'm a Bears/Patriots fan), but hey, a Super Bowl win is a Super Bowl win!
and hey, I get to add another championship parade to the list of things I've done... a few Grey Cup parades in Montreal (back in the original Alouettes days), a few Stanley Cup parades (though I don't remember any when I was a kid... I know I was at the '93 one for sure!), and now a Super Bowl parade.
even better, it literally passes right by the office... our building is a short block from the main street the parade goes down. (for any locals... starts around the Pru, goes down Boylston, turns around the Common and heads to City Hall Plaza.)
should be a pretty big party... I'm sure everyone was feeling cheer-deprived since October! ;)

Date: 2004-02-02 08:17 am (UTC)BOSTON -- The Super Bowl partying in Boston has turned deadly.
Boston's police commissioner says an S-U-V backed into a crowd of revelers near Northeastern University, killing a student and injuring several other people before speeding off.
The driver was arrested a short distance away and will be arraigned on charges including motor vehicle homicide, drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police were out in force in Boston's Kenmore Square, where hundreds of New England Patriots fans danced in the streets and lit small fires.
A local television station reports that one of its vans was vandalized, and that fans flipped at least six cars.
Other people set off fireworks and climbed statues and street lights.
At one intersection, firefighters hosed down a crowd in an attempt to break things up.
