1. What was the first concert you ever attended? How old were you? Where was it?

Glass Tiger opening for Gowan at the Verdun Auditorium, summer of '87 (which made me 15).

2. What was the most recent concert you attended? Where and when?

Great Big Sea at Avalon a few months ago, I forget who opened.

3. Have you ever seen your favorite artist/band in concert? Did the show live up to your expectations or were you disappointed?

I've seen Gowan fourteen times, so yeah I'm covered. He always puts on a great show solo.

4. Ever been to a concert where you were pleasantly surprised at the performance? Ever been to a concert where you were totally disappointed? Name 'em!

I saw Skid Row open for Bon Jovi at the Montreal Forum in '89... I wasn't expecting much from Skid Row, but they ended up blowing my socks right off.

Faith No More/Metallica/Guns'n'Roses was a huge disappointment, but lead singers catching fire and riots will do that for you. As far as complete concerts go, I fell asleep during a Dave Matthews Band show at the Molson Centre in '99... the person I was dating at the time was a huge fan, while I clearly am not.

5. Name five bands that would headline your own personal festival. (Along the lines of Oz Fest or Lollapalooza)

Elvis Presley
Bon Jovi
Metallica
Lawrence Gowan
Aerosmith

1. What was the first concert you ever attended? How old were you? Where was it?

First show? not sure, probably April Wine. but the first show where it was my idea? Elvis Costello & the Attractions (back when he was still an angry young man, before he got old bald fat and married to Dian Krall (not that there's anything wrong with that, but what's she oing with him?!?)

2. What was the most recent concert you attended?

Steve Vai

3. Have you ever seen your favorite artist/band in concert? Did the show live up to your expectations or were you disappointed?

I've seen the Ramones many many times, and during most of that time they were my favs. The first show was the best...that last show was long after DeeDee quit the band. Joey had to run off stage to puke, and he didn't remember what city they were in...bit of a let down.

4. Ever been to a concert where you were pleasantly surprised at the performance? Ever been to a concert where you were totally disappointed? Name 'em!

Lou Reed when he was touring for his New York album.
The band went throught the entire album from start to finish, then after a short break cam back out and did another hour of greatest hits.

Interestingly enough, the opening act was fronted by the former drummer for Velvet Undergound (Maureen Tucker)she wasn't much of a drummer back in the day and she sure as hell shouldn't have been singing and playing guitar (neither of which was done very well)

1. What was the first concert you ever attended? How old were you? Where was it?

Rick Astley as La Ronde with Martika as opening act, whew a looog time ago!

2. What was the most recent concert you attended? Where and when?

No Doubt, Place des Nations over 3 years ago.

3. Have you ever seen your favorite artist/band in concert? Did the show live up to your expectations or were you disappointed?

Saw Madonna once, show was good, althought the choreographies were a bit rushed compared to her Blond Ambition Tour. No Doubt always rocks the house.

4. Ever been to a concert where you were pleasantly surprised at the performance? Ever been to a concert where you were totally disappointed? Name 'em!

No Doubt has always given great shows and when it's over you feel like the circus has left town, it's sad...

Madonna had snubbed Montreal on her Blond Ambition tour and her Girlie Tour it was like she was just rushing through it all.

5. Name five bands that would headline your own personal festival. (Along the lines of Oz Fest or Lollapalooza)

Paul McCartney
No Doubt
Barenaked Ladies
Madonna
Everclear

you'd think Madonna would always rock the house in Montreal, given that her mom is French-Canadian...
