...yoinked from a few people
Answer the questions below and post it in your LJ to see how wide the generation gap truly is.
Where were you when:
1. JFK was assassinated (1963): my folks had met... I think...
2. Man first landed on the moon (1969): my sister was in diapers, I was still in the planning stages I presume
3. Watergate broke (1972): probably getting my diaper changed
4. 3-Mile Island occurred (1979): I remember people being scared of fallout and everything, but no idea.
5. John Lennon was assassinated (1980): at school the next day, I remember the older kids were really sad.
6. The Shuttle Challenger exploded (1986): changing after gym class.
7. The Berlin Wall came down (1989): I don't remember, but I remember that a few years ago, I got to pass a big piece of the Berlin Wall in a building lobby on my way to work every day.
8. 9/11 (2001): At work... we heard about the first planes on the radio or from phone calls, then someone turned on a TV and we saw the rest happen from there.
Did you see the following movies in the theatre (or were at least around)?:
1. Sound of Music (1965): Not born yet.
2. The Godfather (1972): Not really a movie for infants. ;)
3. Star Wars: Episode 4 (1977): Nope.
4. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981): I saw a few Indy movies in the theatre, but not this one.
5. E.T. (1982): I don't vividly remember, but I believe I did.
6. Braveheart (1995): Nope.
7. Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001): Nope.
1. What year did you graduate high school? 1988
2. What did you wear to your graduation (under your robe/gown)? Shirt and tie.
3. Was your hair long or short? Longer than now, but much shorter than I wore it for most of college.
4. What was the first concert you went to? Glass Tiger opening for Gowan, Verdun Auditorium, summer '87.
5. Do you still know your high school’s alma mater? I'm not sure we had one... the school tried to make (gack) "Man In The Mirror" by Michael Jackson our graduating class song. The graduating class itself wanted (and I am not making this up) "Push It" by Salt'n'Pepa. The matter was quickly dropped. ;)
6. Were your Physical Ed. classes co-ed? It seemed to change from year to year... sometimes yes, sometimes no.
