... so now, an evening of basically doing SFA, followed by going to work tomorrow and likely getting torn a new one... at very least, getting a long lecture.
but at this point, at least i'll have the opportunity to say my piece on how i think things are going... my bosses know i always have well-grounded opinions on this sort of thing, i think before i speak so i know they'll take me halfway seriously.
i don't know what the end result of this will be. i'm not happy in my current position, but there aren't any quick solutions right now.
leaving the company isn't a hugely viable option unless the new job is stable and worth my leaving... if i'm going to a shaky company, or for less money, or for a lateral move with more of the same BS, i might as well stay.
my main selling point has to be stability at this point... i've worked for too many crappy companies in my time, i like having decent job security. opportunity for advancement is up there too... i don't need a "fast track" but i need a place where, if i work my ass off for years running, i have a good chance to get a title and more $... i don't have that where i am now either.
the fun factor is close behind... but if i like the job i'm doing (otherwise, why would i take it?) and it's a decent company, that usually follows in quick order. i guess money's the smallest priority... i'm not going anywhere for a pay cut, but i don't expect a mahogany desk either. just pay me a fair salary i can live comfortably on, and it's all good.
i should email this to myself at work... i'll probably quote from it a lot when i get called on the carpet, it's basically my wish list in a nutshell. cut, pasted, done... i am nothing, if not efficient.
