can any techies figure this one out?

... exhibit 1, this Eddie Izzard DVD. the first time we ordered it, it wouldn't work on either our DVD player, or the DVD drive in the 'pooter. so we exchanged it at Amazon.

the second copy... plays great on the 'pooter, but the DVD player goes completely haywire (as in, I had to unplug the DVD player and re-plug it in for any of the buttons on the player to work. any other DVD works just fine.

I'm confuzzled... any ideas?

All the time we get DVDs from Netflix that wont load on Tracey's player but will load on my PS2 and we watch them there.

Do you have one of those DVD cleaners? I've got a little hand-held foam thing and that sometimes does the trick. of course, you have probably already tried that, but if not, I'd give that a shot.

it was a brand new DVD... I wiped it clean (though it looked clean before I even wiped it), didn't change anything.
