long weekend yayyyyyyyy
Feb. 19th, 2005 10:42 am... neither of us work Monday (though I thought I did up until a few days ago... if my boss hadn't asked me what my plans were on my day off, I would have ended up coming in. I R dum.), so niiiiiiice long weekend. :)
today will be Date Day for my sweetie and myself... first, lunch at The Burren, an Irish pub in Davis Square... their live music usually doesn't start until the evening, but sometimes you get musicians warming up or jamming at odd times, which is just as good.
from there, the Somerville Theatre and "Finding Neverland". The Somerville Theatre rocks... live music, good second-run movies for cheap.
after the movie, we'll likely retire to our humble abode and make Toll House chocolate chip cookies. life is good. :)

Date: 2005-02-19 04:28 pm (UTC)And I love second-run theaters. There is not ONE in my New Jersey area. (There are many downsides to being in the richest county of the richest state in America... EVERYTHING is expensive. It sucks to be on a budget like mine.) There's one in Emer's hometown which is awesome, not only is it cheap to get in ($3) but the vending stuff is cheap too... a medium soda is something like $1.50. And what ends up happening? They're nearly sold out all the time, even though her town only has 2,000 people. That says a lot.
Cookies don't make me very jealous. But the first two? Jealous city. But it looks like I might go to Albany for the night, so is all good :)

Date: 2005-02-19 04:45 pm (UTC)I LOVED their happy hour specials with their own beer, their own stouts and stuff. Deelish.
Never went to Hurley's, but will definitely have to sometime...
Right now I'm just trying to find an Albany pub with a good pint of Guinness. In my town, we have an "Irish pub" that doesn't pour it right at all and an American bar that uses the proper 20 oz imperial tulip pint glass and pours it exactly like in Ireland. Weird.
