I'd like to know what my cats are thinking. I would definitely NOT like to hear them lie to me about it. I get enough of that from the humans around here. :-)
I picked yes, but upon second thought -- my cats' personalities are such that they might never shut up talking. Also, all night you'd hear "Wheeee!" and "Yaaaaay!" as the cats bounce through the house.
It would be really useful to be able to talk to them for things like vet visits -- if you could just get them to understand that things like ear cleaning may be uncomfortable now, but they''ll feel better afterwards. Then again, I think they would retain the mental functioning of a one- or two-year-old human, so they might never be able to understand that.
I had a dream once where my cats talked to me. I remember their voices, which matched up to their meows exceedingly well.
