... saw a Great Big Sea concert special on TV the other night, and was reminded that hey, these guys are pretty darned catchy... i think i'll support their Newfie-flavoured Celtic tunes and buy a CD or two.

so i passed by HMV intending to buy a CD, probably "Road Rage", since it's their live album and would thus have all the goodies on it.

curse HMV and their "3 for $33" sale. curse them having FOUR GBS albums at that price... everything but "Road Rage" and "Sea Of No Cares", which were regular price. went in there intending to buy one CD, came out with six of 'em. (four GBS, "Very Best of The Pogues", and Honeymoon Suite's greatest hits, in case y'all were curious).

that sale is dangerous.

... in other news, Robbie Keane scoring in extra time to tie Ireland against Germany? too damn cool. :)

... in other news, Rox rocks. :)

Did you buy "Sea of No Cares?" If so and you haven't opened it...return it. I already have it :-).

*has no idea who you're talking about except for The Pogues, mainly because she's never heard of any of them...*

*wonders if Patrick and Rox can tell that she needs to be educated in these matters!*

Well Great Big Sea is a Canadian-based band that hasn't really ever hit it big in the States (despite being a kick ass band) so it's no wonder you've never heard of them.

I'm so glad to hear the dog is okay! How scary! I freaked out one day when a visitor to the office dropped an M&M on the floor and my boss's dog ate it before I could grab it. I was worried sick until my boss returned and calmed my nerves that one M&M wouldn't hurt her!

Great Big Sea are a band from Newfoundland... mostly play Celtic-type stuff. Pop by their website, they have snippets of some of their tunes up.

Honeymoon Suite were one of the better Canadian big hair bands in the 80s.

...I just picked that one up a couple of weeks ago myself. So I guess that both remaining copies are now accounted for >snort<.

Yay Great Big Sea!!! :) And what's this 3 for 33 sale?? That's like 11 bucks an album. Damn HMV for not setting up in Chatham!

Damn....well, maybe we can do a swap. You buy cd's in Montreal, I'll buy Krispy Kremes in Toronto. Think that's fair? ;)
