Teflon Don gone
Jun. 10th, 2002 07:02 pm... John Gotti died of throat cancer earlier today in a prison hospital in Illinois, at 61.
I think Gotti will end up going down as the last of the big Dons... he certainly was the most "Hollywood" by far of any of the bosses in recent memory. I wonder if his showmanship was life imitating art... so much of what he said and did looked like it was plucked from a movie screen.
... in other news, I must be a real runner now... I got my registration number today! I'll be running the streets of Montreal with "135" pinned to my back. I won't be hard to find, just look for the guy gasping frantically for air. more so depending on how far along the course I am. ;)
at least the weather might cooperate... the forecast for Saturday has gone from low twenties and partly cloudy to high teens and scattered showers. guess which i'm pulling for. :p
