... i'm hungry, but i have very little in the house that i feel like eating. and it's raining so i'm in no hurry to go outside and get something. oh, the dilemma, the dilemma. what to do, what to do.

... appointment with the specialist tomorrow concerning my hernia, i presume he'll take a closer look at it (so to speak), and hopefully my surgery will be scheduled so i can just get the damn thing over with. heyyyy, maybe i'll have it the same week as my root canal! then i'll poke myself with sharp sticks for fun!! ;)

... a cow-orker brought in his son the other day... i tell you, this was the quietest 11-week-old i've ever seen! even when he got cranky and fussy, he was quiet! i hope for the parents' sake that this lasts... that, and he's able to bottle whatever makes his kid so mellow and sell it to the rest of us...

... and in the "putting the cart two games before the horse" department, there was a small parade down the main street near my place the other day. turns out Montreal's Korean community, stoked at making the World Cup semi-finals, decided to organize a small parade, complete with permits, drums, team fight songs, etc.

i, of course, found it weird that they'd hold a parade before the tournament actually ended.

i, of course, found it amusing when Korea was eliminated by Germany today. see now, this is why most people wait until afterwards to hold their victory celebrations!!

... cool, my items seemed to get happier as i went on. i'll have to post something about Rox to keep this trend going.

... i get to see Rox in 4 days. i love Rox. i'm going to marry Rox. i'm going to steer Rox away from Laura Ashley displays at the mall. i'm going to teach Rox the french version of "O Canada"... not that she'd ever have any use for it, but it's the thought that counts.

... still hungry. should probably forage for food.

Oh noooooooo!

Don't steer her away from the Laura Ashley displays!

She'll wither!

LOL! How true! I have agreed to downgrade the Laura Ashley bedroom decor to the guest bedroom in lieu of something a little more manly. I don't understand why sleeping under a floral comforter is such a big deal though. The things we do for our men! ;-)

I've never understood the anti-flower thing guys have - when my parents come to visit me they have to bring their own set of non-floral sheets because apparently it is physically impossible for my father to sleep on anything that even resembles a flower.

a man's bedroom is his inner sanctum. inner sanctums don't have lovely floral patterns!

*snort* That's funny. I'll give Patrick credit though, he's willing to still use my lovely Laura Ashley florals for a year so rather than buying a manly comforter we'll *register* for it! He also thinks there won't be a dust ruffle*. On this point he will find he's mistaken. ;-)

*You can't put a dust ruffle on the bed frame he currently has which is the one we'll be using, but I fully intend to buy a new bed as soon as we can. Plus we need a new mattress and box spring, his mattress is way too soft and hurts my back after a few nights.

Wow, I thought I only babbled like this late in the evening...

Well this is also the same guy who when hearing me complain about my hair and how I wanted to cut it off short again went, "But I like your hair when it's all frizzy." You gotta give him an A for effort I guess...

Ah yes, how girls love to hear that their hair is frizzy. But yes, he's trying, and that's a definite plus :)

I just realized we're doing all this in *his* journal. I have a feeling I'm going to pay for these remarks when he arrives on Saturday!

do dust ruffles come in manly? or at least not-so-ruffly?

Of course she should learn the French version of Oh Canada! Everyone should know that, or at least half of it so you can sing along at hockey games!
