...yup, my week-long vacation has been extended by two days, due to popular demand. (well, approved by me and Rox anyway, and we're the two people who count, so there!)

given that i had Part 1 of a root canal (on a hard-to-reach back tooth, yet - part 2 on Friday) this morning, and i have two appointments tomorrow, it was either a) spend today and tomorrow running in and out of work to and from appointments or b) say screw it, go to my appointments, and be able to relax and let my mouth unfreeze properly. considering i still have a ton of vacation days available, it wasn't a hard decision.

neither was lunch... given that the left side of my mouth is still pretty numb, soft-ish food was the order of the day. mmmmm, souvlaki sandwich and dollar fries...

and hey, they'd better get used to not seeing much of me... between my 2 weeks off for the surgery and my, uh, impending permanent vacation... ;) but i'll email often, honest.

so back to work on wednesday. whee.

... missing the Rox. but she's here in a little less than two weeks. and we're together permanently pretty damn soon. can't wait for that... i'm even starting to like the cat. which, given that said cat occasionally is Satan with fur, is saying something. ;)

we're probably going through the stressiest stretch of our relationship right now, but at least we can see the lights at the end of the tunnels... things are starting to click into place, slowly but surely.

... speaking of other tasty things, yet another article on Krispy Kreme's impending invasion of Montreal. not that i'm obsessed with their donuts or anything. not a bit.

What is the deal with this Krispy Kreme stuff? Could they possible be better than Tim's? Or have the people who rave on about them just never tried Tims?

i've had 'em both. i'm sure as a top-to-bottom option Tim's is better, since they have coffee, sandwiches, soup, etc etc.

however, on the donuts alone, Krispy Kreme is KILLER. :)

I don't get it...a donut is a donut. The only way to make them better is to inject them with more fat. *L*

it's like the whole Montreal bagel vs. every other bagel debate... there's no real reason one should be that much better... but it is. *shrug*

Trust me, it all makes sense once you've tried a Krispy Kreme donut! There just aren't words to describe the place to which you are transported when heating a nice, hot Krispy Kreme donut.

So what's the deal? What kind of donuts are they?
Creme-filled, I assume?

They do all kinds of donuts - creme filled, chocolate covered, what have you but it's their simple glazed that they are best known for. Seriously, I wish I could describe why they are so special but there really just aren't words.

I do know that the original recipe was purchased from a French pastry chef. Couple that with the fact Krispy Kreme was founded in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with its sweet Southern goodness - the donuts have to be good!

Well, I guess I'll have to wait until they make it to this part of the world. *L*
