post-op posting
Jul. 19th, 2002 08:52 pm... or, holy jumpin' jayzeus, does it hurt to move!!
yup, i'm back from surgery, relatively sound. things went as well as could be expected, and i'm now the proud owner of a nice scar to add to my collection. 'cuz they build character and all that.
random notes from today:
- Rox rules. she hung around the hospital all day to provide moral support. and to be the responsible adult into whose care they could release me. love that gal. :)
- torn ACLs (knee ligaments) seem to be common... of the four of us in the recovery room, there were two torn ACLs, myself, and a woman of undetermined ailment.
- when you haven't eaten since midnight, tea biscuits and OJ are marvelous.
- the sensation of regaining the feeling in your legs (and, uh, lower extremities) after an epidural is very strange indeed.
- according to Rox, the cafeteria at that hospital sucks.
- am now reading Neuromancer, by of course William Gibson. to celebrate the high-tech stuff done to my body. ;)
... and since i'm off work for two weeks now, expect frequent posting, more than likely. ;)

Date: 2002-07-19 08:31 pm (UTC)Enjoy the Gibson books. Wish I could have found the third book of the trilogy (Mona Lisa Overdrive).
