letting sleeping dogs lie
Jul. 30th, 2002 11:05 pm... though my dog doesn't lie much, she usually tells the truth. but she's sleeping on the floor next to my computer chair, thus the title.
one good thing about my r'n'r period... i've been able to spend a lot of time with the pooch, makes up for the 10 days at the kennel during the early part of my recuperation. she's been to the dog run two days in a row... that, mixed with the heat, explains why she's dozing off on the floor!!
... reading list update, 'cuz you're all dying to know. ;) finished Trudeau Albums, a collection of essays/photos of former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau.
the non-Canadians reading this should read up on Trudeau... a fascinating life, to be sure. how many world leaders ever dated Barbra Streisand? how many first wives ever fooled around with the Rolling Stones?
his memoirs, titled, well, Memoirs, are also worth a read... I read them a few years ago and should try to scare up the book again.
now reading: Muhammad Ali: His Life and Times by Thomas Hauser, borrowed from
rdcf.
Ali is another fascinating life... if movies like Ali and When We Were Kings are appetizers, this book is the main course. i'm a huge Ali fan, and my reading tastes seem to veer towards biographies... I'm surprised I hadn't read this book already.
... off to walk the dog, read a few pages, then catch some zeds. (Canadian for zees.) :)

She replied, "Well, because when he sings the ABC song, he says "zee" instead of "zed".
