Stephen King movies that don't suck for $200, Alex?

... I just discovered my TV entertainment for tonight... Space is showing Christine.

Not exactly high cinema, I know, but I liked the book. and it's more enjoyable than most King movies... not very hard, since all of them except for maybe a half-dozen sucked.

Ah yes. Tops on that list for me was the recent TV version of The Shining. King directed it himself, swearing he had to to make it come out as written. He said the Stanley Kubrick film was all wrong.

(Personally, I thought it was a classic creepy film.)

The result: a watered-down PC version of the story where father Stephen Weber was redeemed before dying and the Scatman Crothers character was only knocked out, not killed. I almost expected the Care Bears to dance out singing.

Proof that King directing his own works is worse than others making crap films of his works.
