conversations from today

the players: a person of some authority in my office, not my boss, who was in charge of planning the office BBQ. and me, who was helping out, since I did a lot of work on the office christmas party last year. to wit:

she (9am): hmmm, the weather's not that good, maybe we should postpone the BBQ until tomorrow. what do you think?
me: hmmm, it looks like it might clear up, we should hold off on deciding for now.

she (10am): what do you think? we have to decide by 10:30 so we have time to set up.
me: well, the weather websites say it should be pretty clear by noon. and it was clearing when i went outside on break a few minutes ago. and it's actually sunny in some parts of the city. i think we should give it a go for today.
she: great, thanks!!

she (in email, 11am): the BBQ has been postponed til tomorrow.
me: huh.

me (noon): huh, it's sunny out. good weather for a BBQ.
she: nothing, she wasn't there when I said that.

if it rains tomorrow, I am going to laugh my fool ass off. it'd serve her right for not agreeing with me, dagnabit! ;)

I was in that same cloudy weather you were in yesterday morning! Whee! And strangely enough, as we drove through Montreal, we were listening to that very Gowan song. Bizarre, n'est pas?
