thothmeister brought up here, today is the 5th anniversary of Princess Diana's death.
I (along with my family) was probably one of the last people on the planet to find out about it... we were at my uncle's wedding in Quebec City that evening. we went through the entire wedding, drive back to where we were staying, overnight, and until we got in the car to head back to Montreal... without turning on a radio/TV or grabbing a newspaper.
it was something like noon the next day before we heard about it... to say we were shocked was an understatement, considering how much time had elapsed!!
