all about DVDs

... finally got the 24 DVD set. one store that I know of got their copies in... the rest are delayed because of some dumb-ass policy that requires video releases in Quebec to have some sticker on the packaging with the movie rating (G, 18+, etc). whatever, at least I have my discs!

... the obligatory junk mail packaged in with the DVDs yielded some interesting information though... Fox is releasing the first season of Malcolm in the Middle on DVD next month! I don't know if I'd buy it myself though, but it sounds like it'll go over well.

... also bought Life Is Beautiful on DVD, since it's one of my all-time favorites.

now, all I need is for the frickin' Red Dwarf DVDs (and the frickin' movie!!) to come out and I'll be good to go.

Understandably, I can't afford to buy any DVDs yet. Anything I'm interested in I'll look for 'Previously Viewed' copies of at Blockbuster.

From what I heard, we can expect the Red Dwarf movie in . . . hmmm. I think it was like two freakin' years!! :(

As for DVD's of the show . . . what's the deal with that?? Somebody said they were out but not available in North America any time soon. I sure as hell haven't seen 'em anywhere. *grumble*

On the other hand, a coupla tech-geek friends of mine are working on capturing the episodes from VHS and burning them to DVD. :) Woo-hoo! I'll let you know how the project goes . . . right now they've been burning the same episode over and over and over, trying to weed out the last few technical glitches. *chuckle* I almost have "Back in the Red part 1" memorised, thanks to my being their Quality Assurance department. :D --Hag

Red Dwarf exists for the sole reason of teasing us, I have determined. I'm expecting DVD or film sometime this decade, that's about it...

...and then you need to invite your good friend tbone over to watch 24 and Dwarf (when you get it, of course). Yeah, that's a long cross-continent trip to watch DVDs. But I think it would be worth it.
